Deep-pocketed waffles dusted with sugar
🇧🇪 Flanders
Belgium's waffles are a point of national pride: the light, deep-pocketed Brussels waffle, crisp and airy, and the denser, sweeter Liège waffle studded with pearl sugar that caramelizes on the iron. Eaten warm — plain with a dusting of sugar, or piled with fruit and cream — they are a Flanders morning treat.
