Privacy Policy

The short version
You can spin, browse, and cook without ever making an account, and nothing you do in that mode leaves your device. If you choose to create an account, we store only what the account needs: your email and the recipes, stamps, reviews, and diet preferences you create. We don’t sell data, we don’t show ads, and we run no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind (see “Analytics” below).
Without an account
Spins, recently viewed dishes, and anything you have not signed in to save stay in your browser’s or phone’s local storage, on your device only. Clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes them, and we never receive them.
With an account (optional cloud sync)
Creating an account stores your email address and your saved recipes, passport stamps, ratings, written reviews, and dietary preferences in our hosted database so your recipe book follows you between devices. Every row is protected by row-level security: your account is the only account that can read or change your rows. Passwords are handled entirely by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing, we never see or store them. Use a password you don’t reuse anywhere else.
Who processes your data
Our database, authentication, and confirmation emails are provided by Supabase, and the website itself is served by Cloudflare (which also runs the bot check on our sign-up forms, described below). They process data only to run the service on our behalf. They do not sell it, and we do not use them for advertising or profiling. Data may be processed in the United States.
Analytics
None. We don’t run any analytics, measurement, or tracking script on the site, so nothing in your browser reports what you read or click. The only traffic figures we see are overall totals our host, Cloudflare, works out from its own server logs (described below), such as how many pages were served and from which countries.
Bot check on forms
When you start filling in the sign-up, sign-in, password-reset, or newsletter form, the page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that confirms you’re a person and not a spam bot. Cloudflare looks at information from your browser for that check only. It doesn’t load on any other page, and we don’t use it for tracking or advertising.
What we don’t collect
No analytics or tracking scripts, no advertising identifiers, no third-party advertising or tracking pixels, no cookies used for advertising or tracking, no location data, and no contacts. Reading recipe pages sends nothing personal to us beyond the standard web server logs our host keeps briefly for security and abuse prevention (IP address and requested page).
How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and the associated rows are deleted with it. Server logs held by our hosting provider are short-lived and used only for security.
Your rights and choices
You can use the whole site without an account. If you have one, you can view and change your saved data at any time from Your Kitchen, and you can ask us to export or permanently delete your account and everything attached to it by emailing privacy@spintheglobeofficial.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you also have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your data, and we honor those requests regardless of where you live. To erase local, non-account data, sign out and clear the site data in your browser or delete the app.
Children
Spin the Globe is a general-audience cooking app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle data changes, we update this page and the “last updated” date above before the change goes live.
