Ingredients
Serves 4 —

1.5 cups maize meal (mielie meal)
•
2 cups amasi (cultured milk) or milk
•
4 cups water
•
to taste sugar
•
a pinch salt
Instructions

Bring the salted water to a boil.

Whisk in the maize meal a little at a time to avoid lumps.

Cook gently, stirring, until soft and smooth, about 15 minutes.

Spoon into bowls and sweeten to taste.

Pour over the amasi (or plant kefir) and serve warm.
