Buttered baguette with jam beside a bowl of coffee
🇫🇷 Provence
The classic French breakfast is disarmingly simple: a length of yesterday's baguette split lengthwise, spread with good butter and fruit jam, and dunked — unashamedly — into a wide bowl of café au lait. It is the everyday petit déjeuner of Provence and all of France, more ritual than recipe.
